au revoir 2007
2007
This year, a great lesson was learnt while an enormous blow was delivered. I have spent most of it riding on a personal wave of devastation, although there were many, many glorious moments of genuine friendships, pure happiness and mind-blowing fun. But as all things, it is coming to an end, and i cannot be more glad and upset that the year will soon be over.

It has been a year that was both tumultuous and tempestuous, one of grave mistakes and guilty regrets. And yet, i have many to thank for lending me a much-needed helping hand along the long and winding path of this treacherous journey we call life. I am ever grateful to you, and promise to be there in a time of need. Anything, anything at all, and i am prepared to listen without judgement as you have listened to me.

To those i have fallen out with or misunderstood, i am letting bygones be bygones and putting the past behind us, i now harbour no ill-feelings against you. To those i have grown close with, i strongly hope our silent understanding remains and that we stay close. Lastly, to my family, my dearest parents and beloved brothers, we have all grown again this year, and have forged bonds that are both stronger and deeper. Though there are certain things that you will never grasp, I will always be at peace to know in my heart your undying love and support.

Here's to us: who we were; who we are; and who we will be.

And with that, i bid everyone a happy new year.

It is far too early for any negative thoughts, so push the insecurities away and never welcome them back. Remember to take care, as this self-discovery of who you really are continues. Finally, bear in mind that it is always darkest before dawn, and when it breaks, the light will shine through.

My last words: live it up, for you will have every moment only once and nothing can be undone.

Yours faithfully,
Victoria
